Product Structure and Parts
Product Overview
BN series electric actuator is used to control 0-270° rotary valves, such as butterfly valves, ball valves, throttles, baffle valves, plug valves, etc. It is widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, water treatment, shipping, paper, power stations, heating supply, building automation, light industry, etc.
Driven by 380V/220V/110V AC power supply, it accepts a 4-20 mA current signal or 0-10 VDC voltage signal as the control signal to drive the valve to the required position, achieving automatic control. The maximum output torque is 1500N.m.

Installation and Adjusting
1. Installation Environment Requirements
1) This product is not explosion-proof. Do not use it in environments with flammable or corrosive gases.
2) If installed in outdoor or water-flooded environments, please specify in advance.
3) Please reserve appropriate wiring and maintenance space (e.g., for manual operation).
4) To avoid rain and direct sunlight, install a protective cover or choose the IP67 protection level.
5) Basic installation direction: keep the window to the top. For vertical pipeline installation, the cable interface should face the ground.
2. Ambient Temperature and Medium Temperature
1) The ambient temperature must be in the range of -30℃ to 60℃.
2) When the ambient temperature is below zero, install a dehumidifier in the machine.
3) When the working medium is at high temperature, the bracket connected to the valve helps reduce heat conduction.
4) When the working medium temperature is below 60℃, please choose the standard support.
5) When the working medium temperature is above 60℃, please choose the high-temperature bracket.
3. Valve Connection
1) Manually turn the valve to confirm smooth operation, turn it to the fully closed position, and fix the support on the valve.
2) Place the electric actuator on the support and secure it gently with bolts and nuts.
3) Turn the electric actuator to the closed position, and fix the valve core shaft and the electric actuator output shaft with the coupling and screw.
4) Use the handle to turn the electric actuator to ensure smooth movement. Be careful not to cross the set limit switch limit.
Note: When installing, make sure that the switch status of the actuator is consistent with the switch status of the valve. The flange at the bottom of the actuator meets the ISO5211 standard. If the connected valve also meets this standard, it can be easily connected; otherwise, an additional bracket connection is required.
4. Adjustment
1) Adjustment of Stroke Limit
Turn the handwheel to move the actuator to the position where the valve is fully closed. Loosen the limit CAM tightening nut with a wrench, turn the limit CAM (yellow for open, red for close) to adjust it to just press the lower limit switch until you hear a "click" sound twice. Tighten the limit CAM. Set the full-open position in the same way. (As shown in Figure 14)

Figure 14 / 15 / 16 Overview
2) Adjustment of Mechanical Limit
Loosen the mechanical limit nut and ensure the actuator moves to the full-closed position. Rotate the limiting nuts until they meet the fan-shaped gear inside, then screw out two full turns, and tighten the nuts.
3) Adjustment of Potentiometer
The potentiometer outputs a feedback signal with three pins: the middle pin is the output, and the left/right pins are the power supply (note: the resistance value must not be zero or jump). Turn the valve to the fully open position. Use a multimeter to measure the limit switch operation. Adjust the pin resistance on the terminal to the range of 35Ω-60Ω. If incorrect, adjust by turning the potentiometer transmission gear.
5. Test Operation
1) Manual Operation
Cut power off before making manual operation. Insert the manual handle into the hexagonal hole underneath the rubber cap.
Note: When opening to the full-open and full-closed positions, after the limit switch turns half a circle, it will meet the mechanical block. Avoid excessive force to prevent damage to other parts.

2) Power Operation
Before making power operation:
* Confirm that the indication on the position meter and the valve opening match each other.
* Confirm that the circuits are properly wired and the unit operates in the correct direction with external switches.
1) Check the wiring diagram, power supply, and input/output signals.
2) Do not change the internal wiring.
3) Check the rotating direction if the power supply is three-phase.
4) Make sure the actuator is in the on/off position, turn on the power, and input the open signal.
5) If the actuator runs in the open direction, the wiring is correct.
6) If not, swap 2 wiring lines of the 3-phase supply.

6. Maintenance & Lubrication
1) The product uses special molybdenum base grease, so there is no need to add oil.
2) Regular rotation: When the valve does not work for a long time, drive the machine regularly to check for abnormalities.
3) For control type (with field control) instructions, please refer to the actuator control module manual (technical document attachment).
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the standard protection class of the BN series electric actuator?
The standard protection class is IP66, which provides dust-tight protection and protection against powerful water jets. An optional upgrade to IP67 is also available for enhanced environmental resistance.
Can the BN series actuator be installed in any direction?
Yes, the actuator can be installed at any angle, both vertically and horizontally. The bottom connection is designed according to ISO 5211/DIN 3337 to facilitate easy mounting.
What safety precaution should be taken before manual operation?
Always ensure the power is switched "OFF" before performing any manual operation with the handle to prevent accidental motor activation and potential injury or equipment damage.
Does the actuator require periodic lubrication?
No, the actuator is pre-lubricated with a special molybdenum base grease during manufacturing, which eliminates the need to add oil or grease during its service life.
How does the self-locking mechanism benefit the system?
The high-precision worm and gear mechanism provides a self-locking function that prevents reverse transmission, ensuring the valve remains securely in its set position even when power is lost or under high medium backpressure.
