Comparison of action speed and reliability of various actuators

2025-08-27

There are many types of actuators nowadays, such as Rack&Pinion pneumatic actuators, electric actuators, and Hydraulic Actuators. So, what are the differences in action speed and reliability among these three types?
1. Action speed

Rack&Pinion Pneumatic Actuator: fast action speed
Electric Actuator: The motor outputs torque through a gear reducer, and the action speed is relatively slow
Hydraulic Actuator: high working pressure, very fast action speed

2. Reliability
Rack&Pinion pneumatic actuator: High reliability, able to adapt to frequent start stop high-frequency actions, load changes have no impact on the actuator
Electric actuator: Frequent start stop and motor heating can cause overheating protection. Sudden fluctuations in load can cause over torque protection. Overheating or excessive torque protection can cause the actuator to refuse to move.
Hydraulic actuator: High reliability, able to adapt to frequent start stop high-frequency actions, load changes have no impact on the actuator
I believe everyone already knows the comparison between the action speed and reliability of various actuators.
