Operating Rules for Electric Valves
Preparation before operation:
Before operating the valve, carefully read the operating instructions.
Before operation, always ensure a clear understanding of the gas flow direction and check the valve open/closed indicators.
3. Inspect the appearance of the electric valve to determine if it has been damp. If damp, perform a drying treatment. If any other issues are found, address them promptly and do not operate the valve with faults.
For electric devices that have been idle for more than three months, before starting, inspect the clutch. After confirming the handle is in the manual position, check the motor's insulation, rotation direction, and electrical wiring.
Precautions for Electric Valve Operation:
1. At startup, ensure the clutch handle is in the correct position
2 If controlling the electric valve from the control room, move the transfer switch to the REMOTE position and then operate the valve via the SCADA system.
3. If manual control is required, set the selector switch to the LOCAL position and operate the electric valve locally. The electric valve will automatically stop when it reaches the fully open or fully closed position. Then, move the operation selector switch to the intermediate position.
4 When operating valves on-site, monitor the valve opening/closing indicators and the movement of the valve stem. Ensure the valve opening/closing degree meets the required specifications.
When fully closing a valve through on-site operation, stop the electric valve closing before the valve reaches the fully closed position and switch to manual adjustment to close the valve completely.
For valves with stroke and overspeed torque controllers set after adjustment, monitor their stroke control status when fully opening or closing the valves. If the valves fail to stop at the set positions during switching, immediately perform an emergency manual shutdown.
7 During the opening and closing of the valve, if the signal indicator shows an error or abnormal noise is detected, the machine should be stopped immediately for inspection.
After the operation is completed, the power supply to the electric valve should be turned off.
When operating multiple valves simultaneously, attention should be paid to the sequence of operations and compliance with production process requirements.
When opening a large-diameter valve with a bypass valve, if the pressure difference between both ends is significant, first open the bypass valve to regulate the pressure, then open the main valve. After the main valve is opened, immediately close the bypass valve.
When receiving or sending pig (or pigging device), the ball valves along the path must be fully open.
12. Ball valves, gate valves, globe valves, and butterfly valves can only be fully opened or fully closed; they must not be used for regulation.
13 When operating gate valves, globe valves, and wedge gate valves, rotate them back by 1/2 to 1 turn when closing or opening to the top dead center or bottom dead center.
