What parameters need to be known for the selection of electric actuators

2025-06-18

As we all know, the selection of valves is generally to know the parameters of the medium, temperature, pressure, caliber, material, rotation mode, connection method, etc.; So what parameters do you need to know when choosing the THEOBORN  electric actuator  that matches the valve, this article will analyze it in detail.

1. Power supply pressure; The common voltages of general Electric Actuators are DC24V, AC110V, AC220V, and AC380V.

2. Switch/regulation and control mode; what kind of switching mode and control mode is required; According to the working conditions, choose whether you need to switch type, or adjust type, the switch type can only be opened and closed operation, and the adjustment type can be adjusted by opening, such as THEOBORN Electric Actuator, which is divided into switching Electric Actuator and adjusting electric actuator.

3. Protection level requirements; Usually IP55, IP65, IP67, etc.

4. explosion-proof grade requirements; Are there any coal safety requirements? Generally, there are flameproof type and intrinsically safe type, and the common explosion-proof grades are EXIIBT4-BT6, EXIICT5-CT6.

5. Does the nominal torque/thrust include a safety factor? What is the torque? If not available, valve parameters can also be provided

6. Switching time requirements; how long it takes for the switch to be in place; Generally, the switching time of electric actuators is 10-30 seconds.

7. Whether the electric actuator needs to be operated with a handwheel

8. Whether an all-in-one starter is required; Do you need on-site control; Whether you need to be intelligent.

9. Feedback signal requirements: whether the input signal is required or both input and output are required.

10. There are no requirements for the housing material of the  electric actuator , and the hard aluminum alloy material is generally used.
